Withdrawal of old cash registers

Dear customers,
Circular POL.1196 (8 December 2017), published in Government Gazette (ΦΕΚ) 4486 (19 December 2017), sets two deadlines within which old fiscal electronic devices (ΦΗΜ) must be deregistered and then replaced with new ones.
Specifically, owners of fiscal electronic devices that cannot issue retail receipts in euros and still appear as active in the TAXIS subsystem must declare their late deregistration at their tax office (Δ.Ο.Υ.) by 28 February 2018. From 1 March 2018 onwards, any device in this category still shown as active in TAXIS puts its owner-user in breach of paragraph 1(ια΄) of article 54 of Law 4174/2013.
The same decision withdraws from use the devices whose sale, transfer as used devices, leasing and the fitting of new fiscal memories when the old ones are full have been explicitly prohibited since 1 October 2008 under ministerial decision POL.1063/26.3.2008. Owners of these devices must declare their deregistration by 31 May 2018, as applicable, in the TAXISnet system or at their tax office, as set out in detail in that decision. From 1 June 2018 onwards, any device in this category still shown as active in TAXIS puts its owner-user in breach of paragraph 1(ια΄) of article 54 of Law 4174/2013.
An additional fine will be imposed where a business is found to issue retail sales documents without using a fiscal electronic device, or with a device that does not operate to approved specifications.
